Frankly it gives me a soft focus effect. wheather I want it or not. Auto focus or manual I never could get a sharp image. Put your money in a jar and save for a better filter. If you have one and it is good you are lucky, mine is Bad, real bad.
Description of Vivitar 86mm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter
The Vivitar Circular Polarizing (PL) Filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and they also improve color saturation, clarity and contrast. This threaded filter is often used to increase the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds, for example. Vivitar's polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of a shot, and they will provide protection for your lens while shooting.
