I got this to copy photos from a dSLR's memory card to the computer without plugging the camera in directly. This reader works great for this goal. I have had no issues, and prefer copying the images this way since I'm free to keep using the camera, and don't have to wait for the transfer to finish. I'm using this on a Macbook Pro. I would purchase this same item again, if needed.
